🎙️The first confirmed speaker on our panel is Sara Torstensson, a young researcher who has gained research experience in academia and industry.Sara studied the bachelor’s as well as master’s program in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet. Afterwards, she joined Randstad as a consultant and worked at AstraZeneca as an in vivo research scientist.After three years in industrial research, she went back to academia to pursue a PhD at Karolinska Institutet.We are very happy to have her on our panel and are looking forward to hearing more about her research experiences.
🎙️The next speaker on our panel is Lovisa Franzén.Having studied Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, Lovisa moved on to partake in AstraZeneca’s R&D Graduate Program. During the two-year-program, she completed rotations in three bioinformatics placements at the Gothenburg AstraZeneca R&D site.Currently, she is an industrial PhD student at AstraZeneca and at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) / Science for Life Laboratory, applying spatially resolved technologies to drive the discovery of more efficacious and safer medicines.
🎙️Bonnie Tran is our third confirmed speaker. After finishing her Masters in Molecular Biotechnology Engineering at Uppsala University, Bonnie started her career at a small biotech company as a Scientist within R&D, before she moved on to marketing and sales. She also completed a Bachelor in Business Administration.Now, Bonnie remains in marketing and sales within big pharma. In her early career, Bonnie questioned whether or not to pursue a PhD, and now hopes to share her longer-term perspective on the subject to help others be more confident in their decisions.
🎙️Introducing our fourth speaker for this event. Besides her studies in Civil Engineering at LTH, Elin Gustavsson moved to Melbourne where she completed an Msc in Biotechnology.Back in Sweden she conducted a PhD in immunology at the University of Lund.After this, she started out as a Product Specialist at Roche where she has held several positions with the current one being a Pipeline and Stratgey Partner in Oncology.We are more than delighted to welcome Elin to our panel discussion to learn from her experience in the industry and hear her reflections about her time as a PhD.
